To Make a Sign and/or Support Holder Order
Because every sign is custom-made and each order is different, there is no standard form for ordering. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Note: Signs and support holder are sold separately.
To make a sign order, send us an email or letter including the following:
- A sketch (or description in words) showing the typical layout of your signs, indicating the relative size of each line and where italics or capital letters are desired. Every customer’s orders are individualized with the text and layout they want.
- The number of signs and/or holders in this order.
- The size and color of the sign plates and/or holders you are ordering.
- The type of stake mounting system desired, frame or flat-face (if any), or whether holes are wanted instead of support holder.
- An Excel file or Word document showing the text you want on each sign in the following format (each line for a separate sign):
- Column 1 shows what you want on the top line of each sign.
- Column 2 shows what you want on the 2nd line.
- Column 3 shows what you want on the 3rd lower left or bottom line.
- Column 4 shows what you want in the lower right corner.
When entering your data, if you want a particular line in italics, type the words in italics, or if you want a line in all capital letters, type them in all capital letters. When typing scientific names, the genus should start with a capital letter, with all the letters in the species in all lowercase letters. When typing common names, the first letter of each common name word should be capitalized.
- Indicate how you will be paying for your order. We accept checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, Venmo, and purchase orders. To pay by credit card, please call with your account number, name on card, expiration date, and security code, card billing address, along with the total amount of your order. When ordering by email, please ask for a return email confirming receipt of the order. If paying by credit card, call us. Do not email credit card information.
- If paying by check, there is a 3% discount.
- When ordering support stakes without signs, indicate how many of each type you’d like, along with the size of the metal plate at the top and the length of the leg wanted.
Important
List the appropriate information in the columns for the signs you wish to order. Please include a sketch of a typical layout, indicating the relative size of the different lines and whether italics are desired. Please note that very long names will have to be either condensed (crammed together) or changed to 2 lines to be readable. All signs may have either 3 or 4 lines. 10 words are included (additional words are $0.25 each, per sign).
For Orders Outside the United States
For orders outside the United States, you may wish to consider ordering the engraved sign plates only and arranging for your holders to be manufactured and attached locally. This is due to the heavy, bulky nature of the completed signs mounted on our holders. The holders weigh 1/2 pound (and up) each. If our Canadian and Mexican customers live close to the border, it may be of benefit to have them delivered to a border city in the United States and picked up there.
To Order a Free 2″ x 4″ Sample Plate (a Sign without a Holder), Send Us the Following:
- Your name and address.
- The color sign plate you would like a sample of.
- The text you want on the sign such as the scientific name, common name, family, and country of origin of the plant you would like engraved on the sign.
- Tell us how you propose to use our signs.
Note
If you send your request by email and do not receive a response within a few days, give us a call. After you have sent the above information, we will prepare your sample sign plate and send it to the address you have provided.
